My objective for learning French at work was to improve communication with Francophone colleagues. I have progressed from having some key phrases and vocabulary to being able to now write and respond to emails in French. Last week I had a whole Skype conversation in French! The classes are really strong on speaking, listening and reading and has improved my skills in French particularly in work-related topics.Speaking has been the biggest area of progress for me. And the progress was consolidated with one-to-one sessions in preparation for my A-level. The classes are always varied and interesting.I’ve learnt a lot about all aspects of French culture!
The most useful part has been the opportunity to listen and respond to French on a variety of topics. My understanding and ability to respond has increased no end from having this style of class once a week
I would recommend CGC Languages to colleagues and other companies.

Corinne takes the fear out of French. From the basics to the advanced and, thank goodness, how the French actually speak French. You won't feel out of place in South Ken ever again!

I’ve attended Corinne’s conversation classes for a number of years. Corinne is an inspiring teacher who always tailors her classes to her students’ language level and interests. The classes are very inclusive and she makes sure that everyone gets a chance to express themselves. She has helped me regain fluency in French which I was in danger of losing. The class combines a good balance of conversation, texts and grammar.
Je suis les leçons de conversation de Corinne depuis quelques années maintenant. Elle fait tout pour s’assurer que les cours sont au niveau et l’intérêt appropriés de tous. Ainsi ils sont inclusifs and elle s’assure que chacun a l’occasion de s’exprimer. Les cours m’ont aidé à regagner la facilité de parler couramment le français ce que j’étais en danger de perdre. Les cours sont bien équilibrés entre la conversation, la grammaire et le texte.

I particularly valued the flexibility of Corinne's teaching method, assessing my real needs and then concentrating on those, rather than going over ground I already felt comfortable with. I enjoyed our lessons very much indeed.

I chose Maths, Further Maths and Physics for my A Levels and have succeeded in my pre-application to study Mechanical Engineering in Cambridge next year. Still, I have carried on with French private tuition with CGC Languages. Why? Because I'm certain that it has helped me a lot with my UCAS application and offered me much more. Reading and discussing French articles about current affairs, literature, films, politics ... developped my interests beyond what i learnt at school. This made me more cultured and mature for my university applications and interview. Moreover, it had a huge impact on my debating skills, and I will be competing nationally in multiple competitions this year. Knowing that I could debate in French not only boosted my public speaking skills but also my confidence during debates.
Learning French also helped me with the American University SAT exam. My study of French grammar in such a structured way during my lessons with Corinne improved my understanding of English grammar and helped me achieve an excellent SAT score, to the extent of being invited for interview at MIT. During the interview, I drew on my knowledge I learnt from French articles I studied during my lessons with CGC Languages, and I'm convinced that quoting non English articles helped my application. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone else to do so even if going down the science route at school and university such as myself

Corinne has been teaching my (bilingual) 14 year daughter for over three years now. She is a brilliant French teacher whose lessons are always varied, demanding and fun.
She covers essential grammar and exam style questions using the required exam board material as well as resources which appeal to adolescents such as articles from French teen magazines, food recipes, music videos, film clips, card games to build vocabulary etc. She also, as a matter of course, make links with other parts of the curriculum such as history and geography and current affairs.
Corinne is a dedicated, enthusiastic teacher with a sense of humour which puts her students at ease. She does everything she can to help them to enjoy her lessons and succeed, regularly emailing articles or clips after the lesson to further consolidate what has been learnt. My daughter has learnt so much with Corinne and has achieved extremely high marks in the DELF exams (certified by the French Ministry of Education). She is now working towards the French GCSE with Corinne.
My daughter looks forward to her lessons which is no small feat in a teenager! Corinne is quite simply one of the best teachers I have ever come across.
